Greater Noida is facing severe traffic congestion at major intersections due to non-functional traffic signals. Installed to manage traffic at key points, signals at Yamaha Cut, Surajpur T-junction, Pari Chowk, and Honda Chowk have been out of order for several months, forcing the traffic department to deploy personnel manually to control the flow.

The prolonged malfunction of these signals has not only increased the workload for traffic personnel but also led to long vehicle queues, especially during peak hours at busy intersections like Pari Chowk and Honda Chowk.

The manual management of traffic has added to the strain on resources and heightened the risk of accidents.

Authorities report that poor maintenance is the primary reason for the signals being out of order. DCP Traffic Dr Praveen Ranjan Singh stated that the traffic department is not responsible for maintaining these signals and that the Authority holds the responsibility. He assured that the issue would be addressed following discussions with the concerned Authority.
