Greater Noida: A 55-year-old woman died in a road accident on Sunday near Mahagun Mart in the Bisrakh police station area of Greater Noida West. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. when she and her husband, who were riding a scooty, tried to avoid a bull that suddenly appeared in their path.
The couple, Raj Narayan and his wife Sarita, residents of Raksha Dela Society in Gaur City-2, were returning from a temple and had stopped to buy fruits from a roadside vendor. Shortly after resuming their journey, a bull darted in front of them, causing their scooty to swerve onto the road, where it was struck by a dumper truck from behind.

Bystanders immediately alerted the police, who rushed the couple to the hospital. Sarita was declared dead on arrival, while Raj Narayan is currently undergoing treatment.
According to the Noida Police media cell, the body has been sent for post-mortem after completing the necessary formalities. The dumper has been seized, and an investigation is underway.
In a separate incident, a 59-year-old man died in a road accident early Saturday morning, June 22, after the cab he was traveling in reportedly crashed into a stationary tempo. According to an NDTV report, the victim’s family alleged that the driver had fallen asleep at the wheel. The man had booked an Uber to reach the airport.
The deceased, Rakesh Arora, a resident of Garima Vihar in Sector 35, had left home around 3:50 a.m. to catch a flight to Bengaluru for a business meeting. He had booked a WagonR through the Uber app.
The accident occurred near the toll plaza on the Delhi-Noida Direct (DND) Flyway. Police received a distress call around 4:15 a.m. reporting a person trapped inside a severely damaged vehicle. Both Arora and the driver, identified as 32-year-old Sudhir, were rushed to AIIMS, where Arora was declared brought dead.

Sudhir is currently undergoing treatment. “Doctors have stated that he is not yet fit to give a statement. The final medical opinion is awaited, and no eyewitnesses have come forward so far,” a police official said. An FIR has been registered in the case. Uber has not yet issued a statement on the incident.
