Tamil Nadu News: A fuel-laden goods train caught massive fire in Tamil Nadu's Tiruvallur railway station in the early hours of Sunday, leading to panic among the locals. The officials stated that while the exact reason behind the accident is not known yet, the train might have caught fire due to the derailment. They further informed that the train was carrying diesel from Chennai to Bengaluru and the fire spread due to the fuel leak. The railway has announced route diversion for several trains, adding that the services will be normal once the flames are controlled.
While providing details, the officials stated that at least five wagons of the train transporting diesel from the Indian Oil Corporation terminal caught fire. They further assured that no causalities have been reported so far, adding that a probe has been ordered into the matter. The fire department has been trying to stop the flames from affection any other wagon.

Tiruvallur District Police Superintendent Srinivasa Perumal stated that while the authorities are trying to tackle the fire, the public is advised to avoid the accident site to ensure the safety. "The accident site has been cordoned off for safety reasons, and the fire department has been informed to tackle the fire... Railway authorities are working to separate the remaining compartments to prevent further damage. The public has been advised to avoid the accident site to ensure their safety," Perumal was quoted as saying by The News Minute.

"Preliminary investigation suggests that the goods train was carrying diesel and may have derailed, causing the accident. Further investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident. The authorities are working to contain the situation and prevent any further damage or loss," he further added. The officials stated that a probe has been ordered into the matter to know the exact reasons behind the incident.
