Heavy rainfall on Friday completely disrupted daily life and exposed major flaws in the city's infrastructure. Residents had to deal with flooded streets, hours-long traffic jams, and power cuts all at the same time. The situation was so bad that it took people over an hour to travel just one or two kilometers.

After the rain, many parts of the Trans-Hindon area were underwater. Major waterlogging was seen at the Sahibabad Namo Bharat station, in Indirapuram (Shakti Khand-3 and Nyay Khand-1), Vaishali, Vasundhara, Khoda and on Kala Patthar Road.

With the streets flooded, people on two-wheelers and those walking on foot had the most difficult time, which caused the traffic system to collapse.

In the morning, a massive 2.5-kilometer-long traffic jam formed on the road heading towards UP Gate (from Prahladgarhi to the Dabur T-junction). Commuters going to Noida and Delhi were stuck for hours. One commuter, Ajeet, who was heading to Noida Sector-63, said, "I've been stuck in this jam for about 40 minutes. This happens every time it rains." Besides this, the Kanawani bridge and GT Road also experienced heavy traffic.

Widespread Power Outages

- Electrical faults caused by the rain led to power cuts in many areas of Trans-Hindon.

- In Indraprastha Colony, the power went out at 8:30 AM and was not restored until around 2 pm.

- The Site-4 industrial area also lost power due to a fault in a high-voltage line.

- Niti Khand-2 in Indirapuram also faced a power outage because of a fault.

Meanwhile, a city official, Dr Mithilesh, said, "water is usually drained within one or two hours after the rain stops. In the areas that are still flooded, we are using pumps to remove the water. The situation will be back to normal everywhere soon."
