Continuous rainfall from Sunday morning until afternoon left several parts of the city waterlogged, causing massive traffic disruptions and hardship for residents. Journeys that usually take minutes stretched to half an hour as vehicles were stranded in flooded stretches.

The downpour led to flooding at the Gaushala underpass, blocking vehicle movement, while waterlogging on GT Road at Wave City, Mehrauli, Bamheta, Lalkuan, Dundahera, Vijay Nagar, the Bahrampur underpass, and near Hindon River Metro Station caused long jams. NH-9 was among the worst-hit, with vehicles stuck under the Lalkuan bridge.

Commuters also faced difficulties in Crossing Republik, Ambedkar Road, Patel Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Nehru Nagar, Kirana Mandi, Ghantaghar, Lohia Nagar, Sain Vihar, Shanti Nagar, Bagu, Kaila Bhatta, Naya Basti, Rajnagar Extension, Nandgram, Seva Nagar, Govindpuram, and Harsawan.

Flooding was also reported on the Ghaziabad–Meerut lane of Meerut Road, particularly in front of Shri Ram Piston Company.

Municipal Commissioner Vikramaditya Singh Malik said that 55 pump sets were deployed in severely affected areas to drain out water and restore traffic flow.
