The process for the expansion of Hindon Airport in Ghaziabad has advanced, with the new survey report set to be submitted to higher authorities. The District Rate Determination Officer will forward the report to the Meerut Divisional Commissioner. Subsequently, the file will be sent to the state government to seek formal permission for land acquisition.
Land Acquisition And Farmer Consent
The original plan envisaged expanding the airport by nine acres. While 90 per cent of the farmers had agreed to provide their land, some expressed unwillingness. Consequently, a new survey has been conducted for approximately eight and a half acres of land to facilitate the expansion.
Lease Proposal For Public Interest
Dr Chilka Mahesh, the Director of Hindon Airport, stated that the airport management has requested the state government to provide this land on a one-rupee lease. He emphasised that this request is based on the fact that the expansion work is being carried out in the public interest.

The expansion is expected to significantly enhance the travel experience, providing passengers with improved flight services and better facilities at the airport.
