Two robbers posing as online food delivery boys looted cash and jewellery worth Rs 23.50 lakh from a grocer’s house in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur Nagar district on Friday. The incident took place in Chakeri town when the grocer and his wife were out shopping and the robbers found their daughter alone at home and threatened her with a screwdriver to get the keys to the locker.
Narendra Gupta, who runs a grocery business near Akash Ganga Vihar Colony said that he had gone to Naveen Market with his wife Rashmi and younger daughter Navya for shopping on Dhanteras, November 10. His elder daughter Nyasa was alone at home during that time.
He alleged that around 12:20 pm, two men pretending to be online food delivery boys came to his house claiming to have an order. His daughter denied taking the order, but the men forced their way inside.

The intruders put a screwdriver on his daughter’s neck and threatened to kill her. She was scared and gave them the keys to the locker, from which the robbers took Rs 3.50 lakh in cash and jewellery worth Rs 20 lakh.
The man complained to the Chakeri police after he returned home late at night and learned about the robbery from his frightened daughter.
Police reached the spot to investigate the incident and registered a case of theft. Police station in-charge Ashok Kumar Dubey said that action is being taken on the basis of the victim’s complaint and the matter is being investigated.
