The person who threatened with a bomb blast at the Kumbh Mela has finally been arrested by the police from Bihar’s Purnia. Preliminary questioning revealed that the 11th-grade student created a fake Instagram ID under the name Nassar Pathan and issued a bomb blast threat after a dispute with his friend.
His detailed questioning will take place to ascertain more details about the incident.
As per the reports on December 31, a screenshot went viral on social media by an Instagram account named "Nassar Kattar Miyan," where the user was identified as Nassar Pathan. Using this ID, offensive comments were made about Hindus and a bomb blast threat was issued for the Kumbh Mela.
The viral screenshot was brought to the attention of the police. After the initial investigation, the matter was deemed serious and an FIR was filed by Inspector Kotwali Devendra Kumar Sharma. The investigation was then assigned to the Inspector of Cyber Police Station, Akhilesh Maurya.
The police traced the individual using his IP address and other technical methods. He was found to be from Purnia, Bihar, where he was arrested by the Kumbh Mela police after a raid. SSP Kumbh Mela, Rajesh Dwivedi, stated that the accused is a minor and an 11th-grade student.
In another case, two suspects were detained for creating fake websites of the Kumbh Mela and deceiving pilgrims. The Cyber Police are questioning them, as these cybercriminals created four fake Kumbh Mela websites and defrauded approximately 45 people online.
