A 22-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by consuming toilet cleaner in the Hussainganj area on Tuesday, reportedly distressed over a strained relationship. The deceased has been identified as Ashikansh, a resident of Khatikana in Hussainganj.

The Incident

According to the police, the incident took place at a public toilet in the Udayganj area. Ashikansh consumed the toxic substance after a phone conversation with his girlfriend reportedly failed. As his health deteriorated rapidly, authorities were notified.

Police personnel, along with family members, rushed him to the Trauma Centre. However, doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.

Family Statement

The deceased's brother, Nirmal, stated that Ashikansh was in a relationship with a young woman from the local area. The woman had reportedly stopped speaking to Ashikansh for some time, which had left him in a state of deep distress. On Tuesday, Ashikansh called her in an attempt to talk, but she refused. Distraught by the rejection, he took the extreme step.

Police Action

Following the death, the deceased's sister-in-law, Pooja, filed a complaint accusing the girlfriend of abetment to suicide.

Inspector Shivmangal Singh confirmed the development, stating, "A case has been registered against the accused based on the family's complaint. The matter is currently under investigation."
