In an unfortunate incident, four people lost their lives after a high-speed SUV rammed into a container from behind on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway near Rasulpur Majhigwan village of Unnao's Bangarmau area on Sunday.
The tragic accident took place at around 12:30 pm when the driver lost control of the car. Three, including a woman travelling in the car, died on the spot, while the woman's daughter was seriously injured.
UPDA's rescue team rushed to the site immediately and took her out of the car, and took her to Tirwa Medical College in Kannauj. The girl was referred to the LLR Hospital in Kanpur, where she died during the treatment.
Three deceased, including a mother and daughter, have been identified as residents of Ghaziabad's Raj Nagar Extension. The car was going from Lucknow to Agra and had four people, including two young girls. The collision was so severe that the front part of the car was completely damaged.
Providing details about the accident, Bangarmau CO Arvind said that the deceased woman was identified as Seema Upadhyay, wife of late Ajay Upadhyay, her daughter Aarushi Upadhyay resident of Raj Nagar Extension in Ghaziabad. Other deceased include Vinay Pathak native of Bihar and presently living in Raj Nagar Extension. The fourth deceased has been identified as Umesh Kumar.
Casualties despite air bags opened
The CO further informed that the accident-hit car is registered in the name of Ghaziabad resident Pooja Mishra. The speed of the car at the time of the incident is estimated to be around 110-120 km per hour.
During the collision, the airbags of the car opened, but the collision was so severe that the car was blown to pieces.
