A woman in Uttar Pradesh allegedly killed her seven-year-old daughter with the help of her live-in partner, hid the child's body inside a bed box, and then went out to explore the city with him.
The accused not only left the child’s body abandoned at home for 24 hours but also went on a drinking spree at multiple locations before checking into a hotel in the Hussainganj area. Shockingly, before leaving the house, the woman reportedly stepped over the child’s body to exit the room.

"Accused woman Roshni Khan alias Naaz, placed feet while her live-in partner Roshni Khan alias Naaz muffled her mouth, resulting in the innocent's death," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vishwajeet Srivastava, according to the HT report.
When And How The Incident Took Place
The horrifying incident occurred on the intervening night of July 13-14 in Lucknow’s Khundari Bazaar, under the Kaiserbagh police station limits. On the night of July 13, a young girl insisted on staying with her father, which allegedly led to a deadly altercation. Roshni and her live-in partner, Udit, reportedly beat and strangled the child to death. They then stuffed the body inside a bed box and left the house the next morning, roaming the city and partying at various locations without raising suspicion.
In the early hours of July 15, Roshni returned to the house and tried to mask the foul odour from the decomposing body by spraying air freshener and turning on the air conditioning. She then called emergency services, falsely accusing her estranged husband of killing the child. However, by July 16, police investigations revealed contradictions in Roshni’s story. CCTV footage, call detail records, and witness accounts discredited her version of events. Roshni and Udit were subsequently arrested.
"After that, in order to frame her husband, she herself called the police control room on 112 to trap her, telling police that her husband had come to the house and fled after killing her daughter," the DCP added, according to the HT report.
DCP West said the minor girl opposed her mother Roshni’s illicit relationship and wanted to live with her father, Shahrukh. On the night of July 13, when the girl insisted on staying with him, Roshni brutally beat her before killing her.
The DCP added that the motive was to falsely implicate Shahrukh, as Roshni had earlier filed cases against him and his family. She also wanted to take over the house, which legally belongs to Shahrukh.
About Mother (Roshni)
Roshni, a former club dancer from Delhi, maintained her party lifestyle after marrying Shahrukh and moving to Lucknow. She met co-accused Udit about four years ago at a club, where he was drawn to her dancing. Neighbours described her as frequently partying, often leaving her daughter locked at home and returning late with drunk friends. She rarely interacted with locals but was active on social media, sharing dance videos and photos with prominent people. On May 18, she allegedly assaulted Shahrukh and forced him out. He was later found to be at his sister’s house during the murder. Police confirmed that Roshni’s in-laws, earlier jailed, were granted bail.
When police discovered the body, it was decomposing and infested with insects, suggesting the murder had occurred a day or two earlier. During interrogation, Roshni’s lover, Udit Jaiswal, broke down and confessed.
