Bengaluru Crime: A 38-year-old bakery owner, identified as Satish, has been arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a nine-year-old girl in North Bengaluru. The incident occurred on Monday night near MS Palya Circle.

According to police reports, the young girl had gone to buy ice cream from Satish's bakery around 10:30 PM. It is claimed that he lured her inside and began to molest her in a secluded corner of the shop. The situation came to light when the girl’s mother called for her. The child emerged from the bakery visibly shaken.

Upon questioning, the girl told her mother that Satish had invited her inside and touched her inappropriately for several minutes. After the incident, they visited a medical store. While her mother was purchasing medicine, the girl requested some money to buy ice cream. The mother gave her the money and asked her to buy it from the nearby bakery. When the mother finished shopping, she could not find her daughter outside. Calling her name, the girl quickly came running from inside the bakery.

At the time of the incident, Satish was alone in the bakery. Following a thorough investigation, Vidyaranyapura police arrested him at his home on Tuesday evening. He is now facing charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, along with other relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). A senior officer confirmed that the girl, a school student, did not sustain any physical injuries. Satish is to be presented in court soon.
