Lucknow Metro Phase 2 Update: In a major update for the residents of Lucknow, the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) has intensified its efforts to start work on phase 2 between Charbagh and Vasant Kunj.

The work on phase 2, also called as the Red Line, is expected to start by February 2026. The UPMRC has emphasised that the second phase is more challenging to develop as compared to phase 1, as it passes through the densely populated areas with heavy traffic movement.

Connectivity to Aminabad market, Imambarah

Phase 2 is crucial as it will cater to the parts of the old city, including the prominent and bustling Aminabad market, King George Medical University, iconic Imambarah and Chowk area.
