Passengers at Charbagh and Lucknow Junction railway stations will no longer have to struggle to find drinking water. The railway administration has initiated steps to address the issue by enhancing water facilities at both stations. The number of water vending machines and coolers is set to increase, and existing water tanks will be thoroughly cleaned.
Currently, around 60,000 liters of Rail Neer are consumed daily at Charbagh and Lucknow Junction. In addition to bottled water, taps connected to water tanks provide drinking water. Affordable mineral water is also available through water vending machines at just Rs 5 per liter. Now, the railway administration plans to double the number of these machines, with three units to be installed on each platform at Charbagh.

To ensure passengers have access to cold water, water coolers will also be set up. While fans at railway stations are typically switched on from April 15, this year they have been activated earlier due to rising temperatures and passenger demand.
Northern Railway’s DRM, Sachindra Mohan Sharma, stated that passenger amenities are being upgraded, with improved arrangements for drinking water and seating to ensure a more comfortable experience during the summer months.
