A gang involved in bringing foreign women to Lucknow on tourist visas and pushing them into illegal activities under the guise of spas and massage centres has been exposed. Women from Uzbekistan, Thailand, and other countries were being brought to the capital, provided with fake documents, and forced into immoral businesses.

The matter came to light after a case was registered against advocate Satya Prakash at Gomti Nagar police station. Police said the accused advocate was allegedly preparing forged documents for the women, verifying them with his own stamp, and helping them secure rented accommodation in posh areas such as Omaxe and DLF. Acting on the directions of the Police Commissioner, a case has been registered against him and his associates.

According to Gomti Nagar Inspector Brijesh Tiwari, the women were being made to run illegal businesses from luxury flats and bungalows, tarnishing the city’s reputation. The investigation revealed that the racket was being run under the cover of spa centres, where large sums of money were charged for services involving foreign women.

Between 2018 and 2020, several foreign women entered India on tourist visas and stayed illegally. In March this year, 11 women were arrested from an apartment in Chinhat. Investigators suspect collusion between the detained women and the local accused.

The kingpin of the racket is believed to be 49-year-old Uzbek national Lola Kayumova, who used a fake marriage certificate to obtain an Aadhaar card and driving licence in India. She allegedly ran an international sex racket from Lucknow for years while concealing her identity. Two other Uzbek women, Holida and Nilofar, had earlier been caught in connection with the same network.

In another case, a Thai woman, identified as Thongphun Chayapha, also known as Darin Chokthanapat, was arrested at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport for violating visa regulations. Immigration officials intercepted her while she attempted to leave for Thailand on a fake passport. A local aide who had helped her stay in India has also been arrested.

Police said the racket is under detailed investigation, and more arrests are likely in the coming days.
