In anticipation of heavy passenger traffic during Dussehra, Diwali, and Chhath, the Indian Railways has issued an advisory urging travellers to carry minimal luggage and ensure they travel with valid tickets.

Officials have cautioned that during Diwali, passengers returning home from cities such as Delhi and Mumbai will face overcrowded trains, with even waitlisted tickets becoming unavailable for Lucknow-bound services. Similarly, during Chhath, the highest rush is expected on North Eastern Railway trains heading towards Purvanchal and Bihar.

The Lucknow Division has appealed to passengers to strictly follow ticket rules, using general tickets for general coaches and reserved tickets for sleeper or AC classes. The advisory also urges commuters to avoid crowding foot overbridges, to use them instead of crossing tracks, and to immediately report any unattended items to RPF/GRP personnel.

Carrying flammable or explosive material on trains has also been prohibited. For assistance, passengers can contact the railway helpline number 139.

The 01207/01208 Nagpur–Samastipur Puja Special, earlier cancelled due to Gorakhpur–Domingarh third-line and Gorakhpur–Narkaha Jungle doubling work, has been restored.

However, the train will not arrive at Aishbagh on Thursday and Friday mornings. Instead, it will operate via Govindpuri, Subedarganj, Prayagraj Junction, Gyanpur Road, Varanasi, Aunrihar, and Chhapra.

From December 1, the 15078 Gomtinagar–Kamakhya Express will depart Gomtinagar at 10:30 AM instead of 10 AM. The departure from Gonda will shift to 12:30 PM from 12 PM, and from Basti at 1:37 PM instead of 1:11 PM. Timings at other stations will remain unchanged.
