Lucknow's Defence Expo Ground is set to be transformed into a grand, temporary 'tent city' this November to host the 19th National Jamboree of the Bharat Scouts and Guides. The state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is preparing world-class infrastructure to welcome 32,000 participants and 3,000 officials for the event.

The ground-breaking ceremony (Bhoomi Pujan) for the project will be conducted by senior state ministers on the upcoming September 29.

A 'Kumbh-Like' Temporary City

The scale of the infrastructure planned for the Vrindavan Yojana site is being compared to the recent Mahakumbh in Prayagraj. The key features of the gated tent city will include:

Accommodation: Over 3,500 tents with separate residential arrangements for each visiting contingent.

Catering: 64 kitchens will be established to prepare food for thousands of people simultaneously, with a special focus on cleanliness.

Health And Safety: A 100-bed temporary hospital, 15 dispensaries, and dozens of ambulances will be on-site. A 24/7 control room and helpline will be operational, aiming to resolve any issue within 15 minutes.

A Green, Modern And Self-Sustained Campus

The Chief Minister's vision is for the Jamboree to be a model of a green energy and plastic-free campus. Special teams will manage water conservation, sanitation and waste. Modern amenities will be available throughout the venue, including:

- Water ATMs, Clean Toilets And Bathing Facilities.

- A dedicated Wi-Fi zone, exhibition hall, meeting hall, and a 'Global Village'.

- A 100-shop 'Jamboree Market' to meet the daily needs of the attendees.

This event is poised to not only enhance the state's prestige but also reaffirm Uttar Pradesh's capability to host large-scale, global-standard events, building on the success of recent major events like the G20 summit and the Mahakumbh.
