Lucknow Police have announced an extensive traffic diversion plan given the flag-off of the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ on Wednesday, August 13, and the Independence Day celebrations on August 15. According to DCP Traffic Kamlesh Dixit, diversions will come into effect from 9:30 AM on Wednesday and will also remain in place in Hazratganj and surrounding areas during the August 15 events.

Commuters have been advised to follow the designated alternative routes to avoid congestion. In case of any traffic-related issue, citizens can contact the control room at 9454405155.

Key Restrictions and Alternative Routes (August 13)

  • Movement from Digdiga/Taj Underpass towards 1090 Square via Samta Mulak Chauraha will be restricted. Commuters can instead use Barrage Road via PNT Balu Adda to reach Daliganj Sikandarbagh, or RR Bandha Chauraha via Papermill Tiraha.
  • Traffic from PNT Balu Adda to 1090 Square will be closed, with diversion via Barrage Road.
  • Dalibag to Jiyamau Mode will be blocked; alternative route via Sikandarbagh Chauraha.
  • SN Bridge/Kataipul to Golf Club Square will be diverted via Lal Batti Square, Annexe, Sisendi, and Royal Hotel.
  • Hazratganj to Golf Club Square via Park Road will be restricted; an alternative route via Papermill to Sikandarbagh Square.
  • Samajik Parivartan Sthal Dhal from Gomtinagar/Ambedkar Udyan Square to 1090 Square will be closed; alternative routes include Taj Underpass–Samta Mulak–Barrage Road or RR Bandha.
  • Bandariyabagh Square (from DSO side) to Golf Club Square will be diverted via Lal Batti Square to Kataipul Square.
  • Complete ban on movement between Bandariyabagh and 1090 crossings during the event.

Additional Diversions for August 13 and 15 (Hazratganj and Nearby Areas)

  • City Station to Balrampur Dhal/Charbati Chauraha via Golaganj Tiraha closed; alternate route via Indira Gandhi Nakshatrashala–Daliganj Bridge.
  • Residency Tiraha (Shaheed Smarak) to Golaganj/Kaiserbagh Bus Stand closed; alternate via Chakbast Chauraha.
  • Aminabad (Guin Road Chauraha) to Kaiserbagh Bus Stand blocked; diversion via Nazirabad.
  • CDRI–Telephone Exchange (Swasthya Bhawan) to Kaiserbagh Bus Adda closed; alternative via Parivartan Chowk, Subhash Chauraha, Maqbara Road, and Baradari.
  • Cantt Road, BN Road, and Latouch Road to Kaiserbagh Bus Adda blocked; diversion via Nazirabad and Baradari.
  • Balrampur Dhal (CMO Office) to Balrampur Hospital or Chakbast Chauraha closed; alternate via Shaheed Smarak–Daliganj Bridge–Nadwa Bandha Road.

  • Clark Avadh Tiraha to CDRI/Shaheed Smarak/Health Bhawan closed; alternate via Subhash Chauraha, Hanuman Setu, and Nadwa Bandha Road.
  • Kaiserbagh Bus Adda to Collectorate/Telephone Exchange/CDRI blocked; diversion via Ashok Lat and Parivartan Chowk.
  • Chowk to Shaheed Smarak or CDRI via Daliganj Chauraha closed; alternate routes via Daliganj Bridge, Nakshatrashala, and Nadwa Bandha Road.

The traffic police have urged commuters to plan their travel and cooperate with officials to ensure smooth vehicular movement during the events.
