Lucknow Girl Falls Into Canal While Filming Instagram Reels With Friends; Remains Untraced

A teenage girl, who slipped into a canal in Lucknow while filming reels with her sisters and friends on Sunday, remains untraced so far. The incident occurred on Sunday evening when the girl, identified as Manisha Khan (19), was recording a dance video for her Instagram profile near Indira Canal. Police authorities said that divers have been deployed and efforts are underway to trace the girl. 

SHO Ajay Narain Singh of the BBD police station said that they received information from Manisha’s sister and friend, who contacted UP 112 emergency services to report Manisha’s fall into the canal while shooting reels for their social media page. A police team was sent to the scene, where locals present at the incident were informed about the incident, police said.

Police also retrieved a video that shows the girls dancing and filming reels when suddenly Manisha slips into the canal. Upon reaching the scene, police deployed divers to trace the teenager in the canal.

Despite immediate efforts by divers, Manisha's body could not be found. Manisha, along with her sisters and friends, went to the Indira Canal for a picnic. They reportedly hired an auto-rickshaw from Munshi Pullia to reach their destination.
