In the heinous crime of abducting, raping, and then murdering an eight-year-old girl nearly five years ago in the Vrindavan police station area, the court of the Additional Sessions and Special Judge (POCSO Act), Brijesh Kumar II, on Tuesday convicted the accused and sentenced him to death. A fine of three lakh twenty thousand rupees has also been imposed on the convict. In this case, the prosecution was represented by Assistant District Government Counsel Subhash Chaturvedi and Special Public Prosecutor Rampal Singh.
This incident dates back to November 26, 2020, when an eight-year-old girl from the Vrindavan police station area went to a jungle to collect firewood and did not return. When the girl did not return home, her family members searched for her extensively, but she could not be traced. After this, the girl's father filed a missing person's report at the police station.
The next day, on November 27, the girl's body was recovered from near a drain in the jungle. A part of her pyjamas was stuffed into her mouth, while the other part was tied tightly around her neck. The police sent the body for a post-mortem, and the medical report confirmed that the girl was raped and subsequently murdered.

During the investigation, the police, on November 28, arrested the accused named Mahesh alias Masua, a resident of TarauliSumali village in the Chhata police station area, and sent him to judicial custody. He has been in jail ever since. The hearing of this case was proceeding in the court of the Additional Sessions and Additional Special Judge (POCSO Act), Brijesh Kumar II. Assistant District Government Counsel Subhash Chaturvedi and Special Public Prosecutor Rampal Singh stated that the court, based on the evidence, found Mahesh guilty and punished him with the death penalty and a fine of Rs 3,20,000.
