Authorities in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut have initiated removing a mosque in front of Era Mall on Delhi Road, as it obstructs the construction of the RRTS project. The removal is being carried out with the consent of the mosque's management, following discussions with the concerned individuals.

Officials of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) had been requesting the removal of the mosque due to its interference with the project. On Thursday night, ADM City Meerut Brijesh Kumar Singh, along with NCRTC officials, visited the site and met the Imam and responsible persons of the mosque.

The local Muslims and mosque officials were informed about the necessity of the removal and efforts were made to reach a consensus. Following this, the electricity connection to the mosque was cut and initial dismantling work, including the removal of the gate and other items, was carried out.
