The commute between Baghpat Road and Railway Road has become significantly smoother with the opening of a newly constructed 7-metre-wide and 825-metre-long link road, aimed at easing chronic traffic congestion in the area.
On Sunday, height gauges (barriers) were installed at both the Baghpat Road and Railway Road entry points of the link road. The installation work continued late into the night. With these barriers in place, vehicles taller than eight feet will no longer be allowed to pass, a move expected to prevent frequent traffic jams on the narrow stretch.

Earlier, lane markings were painted in the centre and on both sides of the road to ensure orderly traffic flow. In addition, the process of installing protective grilles along the Jainnagar residential side has begun to prevent residents from opening direct access gates onto the link road, which could otherwise cause traffic disruptions.
With the opening of the new link road, a new crossing has emerged at the Baghpat Road entrance. The Vishwa Shraman Sanskriti Shrisangh has demanded that this crossing be named after Acharyashri Vidyasagar Mahamuniraj. The organisation’s National General Secretary, Sudeep Jain, a resident of Transport Nagar, said the link road has brought major relief to residents and that naming the crossing after Acharyashri would be a fitting tribute from the land of Krantidhara.
Meanwhile, the Vishwa Shraman Sanskriti Shrisangh organised its 143rd consecutive Sunday pujan and prakshal camp at Mahavir Jayanti Bhavan on Sharda Road. Camp convenor Saurabh Jain Sarraf, while instructing children, explained the importance of completing daily worship with the Samuchchaya Maha-arghya before reciting the Visarjan Path.
He detailed the significance of the complete offering, which symbolically honours the five Parmeshthis, four Anuyogas, sixteen Karan Bhavnas, Das Lakshan Dharma, the twenty Tirthankars of Videha Kshetra, the Jinalayas of Nandishwar Dweep, all pilgrimage and miracle sites, and the Saptarishis, in accordance with the day’s lunar calendar.
Devendra, Vinod, Atul, Gaurav, Vaibhav, Samyak and Rahul Jain assisted in the religious ceremony.
