Meerut Fire News: 50 Bikes Burnt To Ashes After Truck Carrying Them Catches Fire On Delhi-Dehradun Highway

Meerut Fire News: A massive fire broke out in a container truck carrying bikes, that was parked near Shiv Shakti Dhaba in Dadri of Daurala police station area on the Delhi-Dehradun Highway.

The incident took place on Tuesday at around 10 PM. More than 50 bikes packed inside the container truck have been burnt. According to reports, the bikes belonged to the Hero company. The driver, however, fled the scene after the incident.

The locals said that the driver was in a drunken state. The containers have been parked here since Monday morning. Following the fire incident, a team of fire tenders reached the spot and the fire was doused off.

According to reports, the container had left from Haridwar for Delhi with more than 50 Hero bikes, to transport them to the showroom. The driver parked the truck near Shiv Shakti Dhaba on the highway on Monday morning.

On Tuesday night, the container caught fire. By the time anyone realised what was going on, the entire container was on fire. Within minutes, there was a jam on both sides of the highway. CO and Inspector arrived at the location. Three firemen were able to get the fire under control.

The container driver is now being sought by police. The accident has been reported to Hero Company management by the police. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
