In a significant boost to regional connectivity, the Northern Railways extended the Meerut-Lucknow Vande Bharat train route to Varanasi. Starting August 28, the Meerut-Lucknow Vande Bharat train will run to Varanasi Cantt via Ayodhya Dham. The Public Relation Officer of Northern Railway, Lucknow Division announced the dates, timings and route of the train.

According to the official statement, “The time and route of train number 22489/22490 Meerut-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express has been decided. The journey from Meerut to Varanasi will take 11.55 hours. This train will travel to Ayodhya Dham and Varanasi Cantt via Lucknow.”

Timings And Route Of Meerut-Lucknow Vande Bharat

Train No. 22490 Vande Bharat Express will leave Meerut City at 6:35 AM and will reach Moradabad at 8:40 AM, Bareilly station at 10.11 AM, Alam Nagar, Lucknow at 1:55 PM, and Ayodhya Dham at 3:55 PM and will reach Varanasi Cantt station at 6:25 PM.

Train No. 22489 Vande Bharat Express will leave Varanasi Cantt at 9:10 AM and will reach Ayodhya Dham at 11:40 AM, Lucknow at 1:30 PM, Bareilly at 5:15 PM, Moradabad at 6:50 PM and will reach Meerut City at 9:05 PM. The distance of 782.22 km will be covered in 11:55 hours.

Earlier, due to a lack of direct rail connectivity, people of Purvanchal, including Varanasi, had to go to Prayagraj Railway Station or get down at Ghaziabad and go to Meerut via bus. With the extension of Meerut-Lucknow Vande Bharat train to Varanasi, the journey of passengers will be easy.

Vande Bharat Train Operations In Varanasi

Prior to this, as many as six Vande Bharat trains operated from Varanasi, of which five operated from Varanasi Cantt, and one from Banaras Station. The Meerut-Lucknow Vande Bharat will be the seventh Vande Bharat.
