Train News:  Passengers travelling by express trains will receive a reduction in fares. Trains will run under their previous numbers starting on January 1, 2025. Eleven of the 551 trains on the Meerut line will have their numbers changed by Northern Railway. Currently, the ticket for travelers taking these trains from Meerut to New Delhi is Rs 45.

As earlier, the fare for passenger trains will be Rs 20, which is Rs 25 cheaper than the previous numbers. During the Corona period in 2020, passenger and MEMU trains were treated as special trains. The train's first digit was erased and replaced with a zero.

These trains will revert to their previous numbers on January 1. Passengers stated that the MEMU train should operate from Meerut to Delhi. Daily travelers from Meerut to Delhi and Saharanpur have praised the railways' initiative. They want a MEMU train run between Meerut and Delhi.

Tarun Mehta, a daily commuter, claimed that for a long time, the fare for a passenger train was charged the same as for an express train. It should've been standardised earlier. He also said that the shuttle train is constantly delayed. On Thursday, too, the train arrived one hour late. According to Shubham Dwivedi, the passenger train between Meerut and Ghaziabad should run to Delhi.
