Apply For Ration Card: In a move aimed at ensuring that no household is left out of government welfare schemes, authorities in Ambedkarnagar have directed officials to generate Family IDs for families who do not possess ration cards. District Magistrate Anupam Shukla has instructed the administration to identify such families under the ‘One Family, One Identity’ initiative and ensure they receive a unique 12-digit Family ID through an online registration process. This ID will serve as a direct link to a wide range of government benefits.
As part of a broader effort to streamline welfare delivery, these Family IDs are being rolled out to bring unregistered or underserved households into the fold. Those who already have a ration card will automatically have their card number treated as their Family ID, according to Jagran.com.
However, for those without one, this new system offers a vital gateway to access schemes related to food security, health, education, and more.
Family ID Will Be a 12-Digit Number
The process requires linking Aadhaar numbers with mobile numbers for each family member. Verification will be done through OTP (One-Time Password), and applicants must register on the official Family ID portal: familyid.up.government.in. Upon successful registration, families will receive a downloadable and printable ID.
Officials at the block and district levels have been tasked with overseeing the initiative. Block Development Officers in rural areas and Sub-Divisional Magistrates in urban regions will monitor the registration process. To aid rural identification, local BLOs and revenue officials (lekhpals) have also been roped in for support.
District Magistrate Shukla, while reviewing the progress on the Chief Minister's Dashboard, emphasised the need to accelerate the rollout. He urged all development blocks to hold daily meetings with local secretaries to speed up Family ID registrations and ensure that deprived families are not left out.
Alongside the Family ID initiative, construction of Anganwadi centres was also reviewed. The DM ordered swift completion of under-construction centres and asked block officials to monitor progress closely.
The meeting saw participation from key officials including Chief Development Officer Anand Shukla, CMO Dr. Sanjay Kumar Shaival, ADM Judicial Ranjit Singh, DDO Sunil Tiwari, DSO Shivkant Pandey, and BSA Bholendra Pratap Singh.
