UP News:  While launching a floating restaurant in the Ramgarh Tal on Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that at least "rotis with spit" and "Hapur-wala juice" will not be served here. He was alluding to the state's previous food safety scandals, which included claims that sellers had mixed pee with fruit juice or spat on meals.

"It is good that people here will at least not be served Hapur-wala juice or rotis with spit. Whatever served here will be pure," Adityanath said.

The floating restaurant, Float, is 9,600 square feet and has three storeys with a modern style. It can accommodate between 100 and 150 people at a time. Construction began on August 17, 2022, and the facility is now accessible to the public, providing what the government promises will be pure and sanitary eating experiences.

A viral video shows a teenager in Saharanpur reportedly spitting on rotis, prompting the arrest of the eatery's proprietor. Last week, a juice vendor in Ghaziabad was detained for allegedly adding pee into the beverages he sold.

Similar events occurred in Noida earlier this year, when two men were jailed for contaminating juice with their spit.

Earlier this year, the state government implemented restrictions mandating food sellers, particularly those along the Kanwar Yatra route, to show their identities. While the decree received some criticism, the government stated that it sought to ensure openness and allow people to make educated decisions about the food they eat.
