In a bid to alleviate traffic congestion in Noida Sector-62, the Noida Authority is planning to build a zero-shaped skywalk equipped with state-of-the-art facilities at Noida’s Model Town roundabout. On average, eight lakh people from Delhi, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, and Bulandshahr commute to Noida via NH9, leading to traffic snarls. The zero-shaped skywalk will relieve traffic congestion and ensure free pedestrian movement. The design has been prepared and sent for approval and budget allocation to IIT Delhi. The construction is expected to start soon.
“To make Sector-62 jam-free, a zero-shaped skywalk will be built around the Model Town roundabout. The design of the skywalk has been finalised. Now its design and budget have been sent to IIT Delhi for approval,” SP Singh, General Manager (Civil-NTC), Noida Authority said.
Zero-Shaped Skywalk In Noida Sector-62
The Regional Urban and Environment Study Centre, Lucknow, has announced plans to make a zero-shaped skywalk in Noida Sector 62 to eliminate traffic congestion in this area. The skywalk will be 530 metres long and 4 metres wide. The skywalk will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. Escalators will be installed on the Noida side of the road and two lifts will be installed on the National Highway side to ensure connectivity.

The zero-shaped skywalk will be built at a cost of Rs 40 crore. As of now, the design has been prepared and sent to IIT Delhi for approval. As soon as the approval is received, the Noida Authority will issue a tender and start the construction.
The construction of the skywalk will ensure pedestrian convenience and lessen traffic snarls. For pedestrians coming from Ghaziabad, an FOB has been built at a short distance from the roundabout. Moreover, the FOB will be connected to the zero-shaped skywalk for pedestrians going towards Noida.
