The search for three friends who went missing from the Dankaur area last Saturday took a grim turn on Wednesday. The police have solved the mystery with the arrest of two of the friends, who confessed to murdering the third youth, Manish and dumping his body in the Kherli canal.

The Disappearance

The incident dates back to last Saturday morning when Manish, son of Narayan Singh and a resident of Astauli village, left his home in a car. He was accompanied by two friendsone from his own village Astauli and another from Patlakheda village.

When Manish failed to return, his family searched for him desperately. Suspecting foul play, his father, Narayan Singh, filed a missing person complaint with the police on Monday.

Police Investigation And Confession

Acting on the complaint, the police formed two teams to locate the three missing individuals. On Wednesday, the police successfully traced the two friends who had accompanied Manish.

According to police sources, the two suspects were taken into custody and subjected to rigorous interrogation. Under sustained questioning, they confessed to the crime. They admitted to murdering Manish and disposing of his body by throwing it into the Kherli canal.

Search Operation Launched

Following the confession, the police are now focused on recovering the victim's body. Station House Officer (SHO) Munendra Singh confirmed the developments, stating that the search for the body will take place in the Kherli canal based on the accused's testimony.

An SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) team has been roped in to assist the police. The joint search operation began Thursday morning.
