The Centre has approved for an Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) to be developed across 206 acres along the Yamuna Expressway. Located in Sector 10 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area, the project will include a flatter factory complex, dedicated manufacturing zones, and state-of-the-art infrastructure to support electronics production.

Havells, the investor for the project, will be allocated 50 acres within the electronics manufacturing cluster to establish a facility focused on producing domestic appliances such as fans, air conditioners, coolers, lighting products , switchgear, and cables. Officials stated that the company will invest Rs 800 crore in the project, with production expected to begin by 2026 and over 1,000 jobs likely to be created in the first phase alone.
The project, being developed under the Centre's EMC 2.0 scheme, aims to transform Uttar Pradesh into a key hub for electronics manufacturing, officials said. With its strategic location near the Yamuna Expressway and the upcoming Noida International Airport, the cluster is expected to attract substantial investment in the electronics and allied sectors.
"Now that the Centre has approved the project, we will proceed with allotting land to Havells and finalising the framework for the rest of the cluster. We expect this project to trigger a cascading effect, attracting multiple ancillary and electronics component manufacturing units," said Arun Vir Singh, the YEIDA CEO.
The entire electronics manufacturing cluster will be developed in phases, with the remaining land to be built out through a special purpose vehicle (SPV) involving Havells and its ancillary partners. The Centre has approved Rs 144 crore for the project, while YEIDA will invest over Rs 340 crore in developing essential infrastructure such as roads, power and water supply network, officials said.
The cluster's total area of 206 acres, 39 acres will be used for infrastructure such as roads and green spaces. Besides Havells, the industrial area will feature 66 plots spread across 106 acres and a flatted factory complex on 16-acre, housing 176 ready-built units of different sizes. These units will provide ready-to-move-in spaces for startups and smaller companies in the electronics sector.
"This project will not only create a robust electronics hub but also generate employment at scale. We expect over 11,000 direct jobs and around 20,000 indirect jobs to be created," officials said.
The Uttar Pradesh government has designated YEIDA as the implementing agency for the project, with the entire development scheduled for completion by January 31, 2028. The cluster is being developed under the EMC 2.0 scheme, launched by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, which offers financial support to state agencies for building infrastructure that attracts both global and domestic electronics manufacturers. The scheme aims to make manufacturing more cost-effective by providing plug-and-play facilities and shared utilities.
"EMC 2.0 is designed to attract major players to invest in India's electronics sector by reducing the cost of setting up manufacturing bases through shared infrastructure and plug-and-play facilities," an official said.
