With a strong possibility that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Noida International Airport (NIA) this month, preparations at the site have intensified. Police, administration, and authority officials are scheduled to hold a joint meeting soon to finalise arrangements for the high-profile event.
1. VVIP Movement And Helipad Construction
In anticipation of the visit by the Prime Minister, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Governor Anandiben Patel, work has commenced to identify and construct five helipads within the airport premises. These will be located in the apron area behind the terminal building:
3 Helipads: Reserved for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s helicopters.
1 Helipad: For Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
1 Helipad: For Governor Anandiben Patel.
Discussions are currently underway to finalise reserve routes for the Prime Minister and entry protocols for the media.
2. Itinerary And Event Venue
The event is designed to give the Prime Minister a comprehensive overview of the massive infrastructure project.
Arrival And Tour: The PM is expected to proceed directly from the helipad near the runway to the terminal building. Inside, he will be familiarized with the airport’s features through exhibitions and digital presentations.
Public Address: Following the tour, the inauguration and public address will take place on a grand stage set up inside a German hangar positioned directly opposite the terminal building.
Venue Capacity: A 150,000-square-metre field has been leveled and prepared to accommodate the general public.
3. Public Participation And Regional Reach
A massive turnout is expected for the public meeting, with attendees likely to arrive from five districts and three neighbouring states.
UP Districts: Aligarh, Bulandshahr, Ghaziabad, Mathura, and Hapur.
Neighbouring States: Haryana, Rajasthan, and Delhi.
4. Traffic Management And Route Planning
To manage the influx of attendees and VIPs, the police administration is finalizing a robust route and parking plan.
Primary Route: The Jewar-Bulandshahr road is designated as the main route for public transport.
Alternative Route: The link expressway connecting from the Yamuna Expressway interchange.
Contingency Routes: Authorities are exploring temporary entry options via the Jewar-Khirja road (through the old Rohi road) and from Dayanatpur if required.

5. Infrastructure And Beautification
Agencies including the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and JP Infratech have expedited work to ensure the area is aesthetically ready for the inauguration.
Expressways: Beautification is underway on the link expressway and the Yamuna Expressway interchange.
Finishing Touches: Cleaning, lighting, and general painting work—including fresh white lane markings—are being carried out from the airport’s entry gate to the Yamuna Expressway.
