Noida International Airport: The much-anticipated Noida International Airport is set to receive its Aerodrome License from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) by December 4, with the inauguration of the airport likely to take place by December 10. This is part of the final steps in the airport's preparation to begin operations and provide much-needed relief to the crowded Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.

In a recent meeting attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu, officials discussed the airport's progress and outlined the necessary steps to ensure that all requirements are met. According to Jagran.com report, the meeting focused on resolving security-related issues raised by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), with a deadline of December 2 set to address these concerns.

Security Clearance and Final Inspections At Noida International Airport

The Noida International Airport will be the first greenfield airport in the region, developed under a public-private partnership. Its construction is expected to ease pressure on the already overburdened Indira Gandhi International Airport and improve connectivity in the National Capital Region (NCR), which has seen a steady rise in air traffic.

Preparations for Inauguration and Flight Operations At Noida International Airport

With the Aerodrome License expected to be granted shortly, preparations for the official inauguration of the airport are underway. During the meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath spent over an hour inspecting key facilities, including the domestic terminal, the site designated for the inauguration ceremony, and security arrangements. The authorities are also focused on traffic management and ensuring smooth operations during the airport’s opening.

Once the Aerodrome License is issued, flight services could begin within 45 days, as authorities work to complete the remaining formalities. However, there is an expectation that flights could start sooner after the inauguration, depending on the completion of final checks and operational readiness.

The Noida International Airport, located in Jewar, will play a critical role in relieving congestion at the capital's primary airport, which is currently operating at full capacity. This new hub will serve as a major transportation gateway for the National Capital Region, enhancing domestic and international connectivity and contributing to the region’s economic growth.
