Noida International Airport: Chief Secretary To Hold Meeting
A report by the Times of India reported that the completion of the work within the next two months is unlikely. Although, no new date has been announced formally, the Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh is expected to chair a comprehensive meeting of stakeholders and submit a report within 15 days.
Chief Secretary inspected the site in Jewar on Tuesday (29 April), and met officials from YIAPL, Tata Projects Limited, and Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL).

The concessionaire Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) will have to pay Rs 10 lakh per day as a penalty, beginning this January, for delay in the project, as the UP government has imposed a fine, the report added.
According to the report, the runway and associated airside infrastructure were reportedly 90 per cent complete, and the terminal was 80 per cent complete with ongoing roofing and interior work. The airport had completed 80 per cent of the physical work, and the water and sewage plants were only 40 per cent complete as of March 10. The ATC building was supposed to be completed by 31 March, but the commissioning of CNS/ATM systems by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) was projected only by 30 April, ToI reported.
According to the report, officials have explained to the CM that non-issuance of the aerodrome licence from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and pending construction were major reasons behind the delay, and operation could not be started by April 30.
The DGCA proposed phased operations, suggesting cargo flights by 15 May, partial passenger operations, or full readiness for Phase 1.
