As severe hailstorms and heavy rain struck Delhi and the neighbouring region, affecting lives and damaging infrastructure, several posts on social media show widespread destruction, highlighting low-quality constructions. Uttar Pradesh’s Noida suffered comparatively larger destruction than the scale of the hailstorm on Wednesday. Netizens argue that Noida is not strange to destruction caused by rough weather, as builders compromise on the quality of construction.

2 Killed After Railing Fell In Greater Noida

Tragedy struck at the Migsun Ultimo Society in Sector Omicron 3 after Wednesday’s storm, where a grill collapse resulted in the death of an elderly woman and her two-year-old grandson. The woman's head was severed, and the child was rushed to Fortis Hospital and later shifted to Apollo Hospital due to his critical condition, where he also succumbed to his injuries, Jagran.com reported.

Residents of Migsun Ultimo Society staged a protest on the 130-meter road in response to the incident, resulting in a 4-kilometre-long traffic jam. A large police force has been deployed at the scene. The residents have alleged that the accident occurred due to the builder's negligence and are demanding that the builder be summoned. Senior police officials have arrived to try to disperse the protesters.
