Following an announcement by the Bharatiya Kisan Union Lokshakti organisation, Noida Authority officials on Tuesday morning opened the six-lane Bhangel Elevated Road from Agahpur petrol pump to the NSEZ on DSC Marg for a trial period. The six-lane elevated road built for Rs 608.08 crore has a total length of 4.50 km.

The project is set to provide significant relief to thousands of people in Greater Noida, Dadri, Surajpur, and the densely populated areas of Noida, such as Sadarpur, Chhalera, Agahpur, Barola, Salarpur, and Mangol. Along with this, travel will also become easier for people in industrial areas and Sectors 43, 40, 41, 48, 49, 47, 101, 107, 106, 110, 82, 88, and Phase-II.

BC Pradhan, the National General Secretary of Bharatiya Lokshakti, stated that he had held a meeting with office-bearers to formulate a strategy for opening the elevated road. Amid the preparations, police placed him and other office-bearers under house arrest on Monday night. 

At around 11 AM, following discussions with police officials, he arrived at the elevated road, where traffic was already moving. Meanwhile, a video went viral on social media, showing a vehicle with a farmers' union sticker being driven at high speed in the wrong direction while sounding a hooter. The police have taken cognisance of the video and have launched an investigation into the matter.

For now, the organisation's office-bearers have expressed their gratitude to the Authority's officials for opening the elevated road. Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer Dr Lokesh M has issued instructions to open the elevated road for trial use.
