Noida Sports City Project Update: The Supreme Court has granted partial relief to hundreds of flat buyers stranded in the Sports City project in Sector 150. The court directed the Noida Authority to issue conditional occupancy certificates (OCs) to the builder for six residential towers. This decision is being seen as a significant step for the approximately 450 families awaiting their homes in Godrej Nest.

This order was reviewed by the Noida Authority in its 219th Board Meeting. Additional Chief Executive Satish Pal stated that after reviewing the order, it will be brought to the next Board Meeting to provide relief to buyers. Upon receiving approval, the builder can be issued a conditional CC. This relief is limited to these six towers only and will not set a precedent for other Sports City projects, jagran.com reported.

The order was passed by a bench of Justices MM Sundresh and Satish Chandra Sharma while hearing a petition filed by Brick Rise Developers, part of a consortium led by Lotus Greens Constructions, challenging the February 2025 order of the Allahabad High Court, which had directed the withholding of the OC, citing irregularities, delays and outstanding dues in the project.

Project Must Be Completed As Promised

The Supreme Court had stated that the six towers whose applications are pending with the authority would be granted conditional occupancy certificates. The court clarified that these certificates would be subject to the ongoing special leave petitions and any future judicial orders.

The developer will also have to complete all the sports and recreational facilities promised under the Sports City and ensure that all construction work is in accordance with the building bye-laws of Noida.
