A 27-year-old engineer in Noida allegedly died by suicide and claimed in his suicide note that he took this extreme step because of the continuous taunts he was getting from his live partner over being unemployed. In his suicide note, Mayank Chandel, the deceased engineer, claimed that he was already under extreme pressure because of his joblessness, and the remarks from his partner made the situation worse.
Police stated that Mayank Chandel originally hailed from Jalalabad in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur district, and he developed a friendship with a woman from Banda district almost seven years ago. They both had studied together and decided to live together almost four years ago.
They had a good bond in the early years of their relationship, but the situation started getting worse, especially after Chandel got unemployed. They both resided near Shaurya Banquet Hall in Noida's Sector 73.
In his suicide note, Chandel emphasised that he was stressed and had anxiety because he was not getting a job. He wrote that while the woman worked in a private firm, he was not employed. The situation for him got a lot worse when his partner started taunting him continuously, rather than supporting him in his tough times.
She allegedly used to say things like Chandel was sitting at home and eating all day, which added to his stress. Though the techie mentioned that he was dying because of all these factors, he did not particularly blame anyone for his extreme step.
Chandel's partner came to know about the suicide when she discovered his body hanging from a fan in their apartment when she came back from her office work on Friday evening. The police team rushed to the apartment when she informed the Sector 113 police station.
The police also recovered the suicide note and then sent the body for a post-mortem. The police have ordered a probe into the matter and stated that Chandel's family has also been informed about the tragic incident.
