In a chilling incident, a woman from Noida tried to set herself on fire in front of the residence of CM Yogi in Lucknow on Friday after accusing the Haryanvi singer Uttam Kumar of rape, according to a report by India Today.
The woman was disgruntled over no progress in the case despite more than two months into the FIR. The woman had filed the complaint in the Shalimar Garden police station in Ghaziabad on June 24.
In her complaint, she accused Uttam Kumar of sexual assault. But the case was not registered for the next 25 days until the High Court order.
The victim claimed that she even provided information on Kumar's whereabouts to the police but no action was taken. Frustrated by this, she attempted self-immolation in front of CM Yogi's official residence in Lucknow on Friday.
