The administration has taken cognisance of two separate explosions that occurred in the oxygen line at Mark Hospital and Trauma Centre in Sector-66, prompting senior officials to request a detailed report on the matter.
On Tuesday, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Narendra Kumar held a meeting with Dr Shweta Khurana, the nodal officer for the oxygen plant, and administrative officer Sharad Kumar Asthana. Following the meeting, the CMO has cancelled the hospital's registration until further notice.
According to reports, the first incident occurred around 12 pm on Sunday, when a short circuit took place in the oxygen pipeline located in the false ceiling near the ICU room on the hospital's ground floor. The hospital management was instructed to take immediate corrective action.
However, the management allegedly acted negligently and failed to carry out proper repairs on the oxygen line. As a result, a second blast occurred in the same pipeline 15 hours later on Monday evening.
