UP News: A group of "nude" goons has been reportedly troubling the local women in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut district for the past few weeks. The goons allegedly arrive naked and attack women in the deserted areas of the Daurala region, creating a panic among the locals. The locals, while providing details, alleged that the area has witnessed four such cases in the past few weeks. The police have started an investigation in the matter after receiving multiple complaints from the locals. The officials stated that while no arrest has been made in the case yet, they are inspecting the area with the help of drone cameras and other resources.

The villagers stated that they did not take the matter seriously after the first two cases; however, such incidents have not created fear among them, especially women, reported NDTV. The villagers approached police after a woman was attacked by the same gang recently in Bharaala village.

The villagers stated that two men attacked and dragged the woman when she was travelling to her workplace. They further stated that the woman somehow managed to escape the scene and informed the villagers. However, the locals could not find anyone even after they surrounded the whole area from all sides, leading to more fear.

The village chief, Rajendra Kumar, stated that while the locals did not take these cases seriously initially, they sought police intervention after more women complained of similar incidents. "Villagers initially did not take it seriously. But now there is an atmosphere of fear. This gang has so far targeted only women," Kumar was quoted as saying by NDTV.

Senior Superintendent of Police Vipin Tada stated that the police could not find any suspect yet; however, he assured that women officials have been deployed in the deserted areas to identify the suspects. "We combed the area with drones and the help of villagers, but did not find any suspects. Women cops have been deployed in the area, and a search is on for the suspects," Tada was quoted as saying by NDTV.
