Community Health Centers (CHCs) in UP’s Lakhimpur Kheri district will soon have generic medicine centers under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana. This will provide affordable, high-quality, and life-saving drugs to the public.

The process of establishing centers at nine major CHCs, including Nigahsan, Oyal, Gola, Mohammadi, Behjam, Mitauli, Phoolbehar, Palia, and Fardhan, is complete. Drug Inspector Babita Rani conducted a thorough survey of all centres, after which the Assistant Commissioner of Drugs, Lucknow Division, issued licenses.

These centers will be fully operational soon. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a 'Healthy India, Strong India' and will provide significant relief to the poor, farmers, labourers, and middle-class families, freeing them from the burden of expensive medicines and making treatment accessible and affordable.

Locals believe this will usher in a new health revolution in the district, with Lakhimpur setting a leading example. In addition to CHCs, generic medicine centers are also being opened at Primary Health Centers (PHCs).

Applications for nine CHCs and PHCs were recently received and approved. The Assistant Commissioner, Lucknow Division, has issued licenses to all applicants. Currently, 45 generic medicine centers operate in Lakhimpur, providing substantial relief in healthcare services.
