Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, subsidy money for domestic gas cylinder refills will be credited to the accounts of 3.27 lakh beneficiaries in Barabanki, UPjust ahead of Diwali. Following a sudden government order on Tuesday, the district’s Supply Department has initiated the process, alerting all 66 gas agencies in the area.

Beneficiaries will need to pay for cylinder refills at the gas agencies first, after which the subsidy amount will be transferred to their linked bank accounts. Only those with Aadhaar-linked accounts and completed e-KYC will receive the benefit. Officials have urged remaining consumers to complete their e-KYC and Aadhaar linkage immediately.
