The electricity corporation’s One-Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme was launched in the city on December 1, with Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PVVNL) organising camps at three locations in Greater Noida. On the first day, 147 consumers registered and cleared outstanding dues amounting to Rs 23.4 lakh, though some payments are still being processed.
Officials said that, for the first time, a rebate is being offered on the principal amount as well. Consumers with long-pending dues from before April, those who have never made a payment, and even individuals booked in electricity theft cases are eligible for benefits under the scheme. The district currently has around 14,000 electricity theft cases, carrying fines totalling Rs 90 crore.

Under the first phase, running from December 1 to 31, up to 50 per cent of the fine for theft cases can be waived. The second phase, from January 1 to 31, 2026, will offer a 45 per cent waiver, while the third phase will provide a maximum relief of 40 per cent. After the scheme ends, recovery proceedings will be initiated with assistance from the district administration.
