Railway News: Travelling from Gorakhpur-Ayodhya-Lucknow-Prayagraj will become easier now. The entire rake of the semi-high speed train number 22549/22550 running from Gorakhpur Junction will be changed. From June 8, a new 16 coach train will run in place of the eight coach Vande Bharat. After the speed trial, the railway administration has given permission to run the Vande Bharat train with the new rake. This train's rake will have two executive cars and a normal chair car, jagran,com reported.

The speed trial of the 16 coach Vande Bharat train rake that reached Gorakhpur from Shakur Basti of Northern Railway was conducted between Gorakhpur and Nautanwa on June 1. The train was tested by running it at a maximum speed of 110 kmph. After the test was successful, the mechanical department issued a fitness certificate to operate the new rake.

After getting fitness, the operations department has also fixed the date for running the train. However, only the rake of the train will change. The train will run on the basis of pre-determined time, route and stoppages. After adding a 16 coach rake to Gorakhpur-Prayagraj Vande Bharat, the 8 coach rake will become empty.

Preparations In Full Swing To Run Vande Bharat Train On Gorakhpur-Patna Route

The empty rake of Vande Bharat with eight coaches will be run between Gorakhpur and Patna. Soon this train will also be announced. This train is to be run on the Gorakhpur-Bettiah-Narkatiyaganj-Muzaffarpur-Patna railway line. Which will leave from Gorakhpur at six in the morning and return by nine thirty in the night. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, who visited Gorakhpur and Bettiah, had announced to run a new Vande Bharat train from Gorakhpur to Patna.

This fully air-conditioned train built with indigenous technology has eight and 16 coaches. Only the eight-coach Vande Bharat train was run from Gorakhpur. On July 7, 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off this first train from Gorakhpur Junction. Initially, this train used to run to Lucknow via Ayodhya.

As the demand of passengers increased, its route was extended till Prayagraj. In the coming days, only Vande Bharat trains will be run on almost all the major routes of Northeast Railway including the headquarters Gorakhpur. Apart from the sleeper Vande Bharat between Gorakhpur to Delhi and Agra, there is a proposal to run a total of 17 trains including seven Vande Bharat and two Amrit Bharat trains including Prayagraj via Varanasi.

There is now a plan to run Vande Bharat Express going to Prayagraj via Gorakhpur-Ayodhya-Lucknow on Saturdays. Currently, this train runs six days a week. On Saturdays, the train remains stationary in Gorakhpur due to maintenance of the rake.

The railway administration is preparing to get the maintenance of Vande Bharat done on Wednesday or Thursday instead of Saturday.Senior railway officials also believe that Vande Bharat will get more passengers on Saturday than on Wednesday or Thursday. The concerned officials have also started brainstorming on the maintenance of Vande Bharat.
