The UP Education Department has launched a state-wide programme under the Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan to encourage scientific curiosity and innovation among students in council upper primary schools (classes 6 to 8). As part of the initiative, schools will host quizzes and science exhibitions until October, progressing from the school level to block and district levels.
The quiz will assess teamwork, logical reasoning, and self-confidence, while students will present original and creative models at the science exhibition. The top five students at the district level will receive tablets and participate in a one-day educational exposure visit to science museums, industries, agricultural universities, and solar plants.

A budget of Rs 80,000 at the block level and Rs 2,00,000 at the district level has been allocated for the smooth execution of the programme. The district-level exhibition and quiz competition will be held next month at the district headquarters, where students must prepare their models on-site. Originality, creativity, and scientific thought will be key criteria in the evaluation.
The Education Department has issued a timetable for the programme. By October 6, each school must select three outstanding students and forward the list to the Block Education Officer. The block-level quiz will be conducted on the third Saturday, and by October 31, the top two district-level students’ names will be sent to the State Project Office.
