Following the Indian Army's attack on terrorist bases in Pakistan, a red alert has been declared across Uttar Pradesh, with heightened security measures in place. DGP Prashant Kumar has issued detailed instructions for ensuring internal security, emphasising close monitoring of suspects and ongoing investigations into infiltrators. The police have been put on high alert and are fully equipped to handle the situation.
All police field units have been directed to step up checks and collaborate with central forces to strengthen security at key establishments. Additional checks will be conducted in districts bordering Nepal, with a particular focus on monitoring those crossing from Nepal.
In response to the recent terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir, efforts have been intensified to investigate the presence of Bangladeshis and Rohingyas in the state. A significant number of infiltrators are believed to be residing in various districts, and investigations into their activities have been ramped up. There are growing concerns about foreign funding for infiltrators and the possibility of these individuals being part of sleeper cells associated with terrorist groups and the ISI.
Both the intelligence department and military intelligence are closely monitoring the situation. Sources indicate that special vigilance has been directed in sensitive districts such as Lucknow, Kanpur, Saharanpur, Aligarh, Rampur, Meerut, Sambhal, Ghaziabad, and others. The ATS and STF have been instructed to monitor individuals previously involved in suspicious activities.
