Daily commuters between Rewari and Meerut are struggling due to repeated delays of the shuttle train, with Monday witnessing a massive delay of three hours and 15 minutes. The cold night weather has added to the difficulties for travellers relying on this service.

Train number 54411, operating between Rewari and Meerut Cantt, is a vital link for people commuting to Delhi, Ghaziabad, and other business hubs. Scheduled to depart Rewari at 3:05 PM, New Delhi at 6:14 PM, and Ghaziabad at 7:13 PM, the train is supposed to reach Meerut City at 8:23 PM and Meerut Cantt at 8:45 PM. However, for the past eight days, the train has been running one to one-and-a-half hours late, and on Monday, it reached Meerut Cantt at 11:45 PM.

Commuters Tarun Mehta and Bijendra Pal explained that the delay starts from Rewari and worsens at the outer signals of New Delhi and Sahibabad stations, where the train is held to allow priority trains such as Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat to pass.

Daily travellers have requested the introduction of an EMU train from New Delhi to Meerut departing at 6:15 PM or 6:30 PM to ensure timely arrival at home. They have also suggested a morning train from Meerut to New Delhi at 7:15 AM. Commuters have appealed to MP Arun Govil and the Railway Minister to take immediate action on the matter.
