In a notable first, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav addressed the youth in English. The Samajwadi Party (SP) President conveyed his confidence in the newly elected young MPs in the SP Bulletin’s June edition, which is a monthly digital magazine of the party. Akhilesh Yadav said he decided in favour of the youth leaders as they are well-equipped to understand and tackle modern societal challenges, bringing fresh ideas to the party.

Akhilesh Yadav praised the young MPs, Iqra Hasan, Priya Saroj and Pushpendra Saroj, stating that all of them proved themselves by winning their respective parliamentary seats. He emphasised that young individuals must get opportunities as they come up with new thoughts which he believes can rejuvenate the party cadre.

Akhilesh Yadav also shared this initiative on social media platform X, stating, "The experience of the elders and the energy of the youth will together create 'Positive India-Strong India'."

The Samajwadi Bulletin also features detailed English profiles of the three MPs, Iqra Hasan from Kairana, Priya Saroj from Machhlishahr and Pushpendra Saroj from Kaushambi, highlighting their achievements and backgrounds, in a language and tone that may connect the youths of Uttar Pradesh with their young leaders.

SP chief spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary emphasised that the inclusion of English content in the Samajwadi Bulletin aims to engage the younger generation with socialist ideology. In 2021, the song 'Nayi Hawa Hai, Nayi Sapa Hai' marked a visible shift in the Samajwadi Party (SP) under the leadership of Akhilesh Yadav, signalling a departure from the traditional Muslim-Yadav vote bank to include a broader coalition of non-Yadav OBCs and Dalits. This strategic expansion, focusing on the ‘PDA-Pichda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak’ (Backward, Dalit, Minority) alliance, yielded positive results for the party.

This new move to add youths to the policy-making decisions signifies the SP's ongoing efforts to modernise and broaden its appeal, especially among the younger demographic as the party looks forward to winning 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections.
