The advocate commissioner might submit the survey report on the Shahi mosque in Sambhal on Monday as the deadline for the submission of the report ends today. The Sambhal trial court gave 10 extra days to submit the report, as the report could not be prepared on November 29, the pre-determined date for the submission of the report. A heavy force is expected to be deployed outside the court premises amid submission of the report in a sealed envelope.
Ramesh Raghav, advocate commissioner, said that the deadline will be over on Monday. He further informed that the report is in its final stages, but some analysis is still pending. However, he further stated that they might seek more time from the court. “The court had given 10 days to complete the survey report. The deadline will be over on Monday,” Raghav was quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times.

“The report is still in the final stages. Some analysis is pending. If it is completed, then the report will be presented in court on Monday. Otherwise, we will seek more time from the court,” Raghav added. The Supreme Court on November 29 ordered the Sambhal trial court not to pass any order related to the survey of the Shahi Jama Masjid after the clash in Sambhal on November 24.
The court also directed the Uttar Pradesh government to maintain law and order in the district. The court also stated that the survey report should be kept sealed until the Allahabad High Court hears the mosque committee’s plea.

The court of civil judges on November 19 appointed Ramesh Raghav as the advocate commissioner after a petition by Supreme Court lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain. Raghav carried out an initial survey of the mosque on the evening of November 19 in the presence of district magistrate Rajendra Pensiya and district police chief KK Bishnoi.
