A fire broke out due to a short circuit last Monday night in Kohdaura village, under the Trilokpur police station area. Goods worth lakhs of rupees were burnt to ashes in the incident.

Ram Gopal Gupta, son of Bekaru, a resident of the village, owns a general store. Due to the Diwali festival, the entire family was at the shop. Around 11 PM, after closing the shop, Ram Gopal went to check his godown (warehouse), located about 500 meters away. When he arrived, he saw thick smoke billowing from the godown. He raised an alarm, and nearby people gathered. First, the electricity supply was cut off. After that, people began efforts to extinguish the fire.

Wedding Items Were Also Stored

Ram Gopal's daughter's wedding is scheduled for the upcoming March 7th. Consequently, apart from the shop's inventory, items related to the wedding were also stored in the godown. Amidst the rising flames, people made tireless efforts to extinguish the fire. After considerable effort, the fire was brought under control. However, by that time, all the goods had been destroyed.

Loss Estimated At Around 10 Lakh Rupees

A loss of about 10 lakh rupees has been reported. Family members also arrived after the incident. Seeing the ashes, they could do nothing but shed helpless tears. The fire caused massive damage in an instant. The tehsil administration has been informed about the fire incident.
